About ISL

The International School of London (ISL) offers a rigorous international education to students from age 3-18. In addition to the International Baccalaureate Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programmes, ISL is known for its mother tongue language programmes integrated into the curriculum. Over 60 nationalities are represented in the student body with twenty mother tongue languages taught. ISL London is seeking students who have a good record of achievement and attendance and will contribute positively to the life of the school.

Parents are welcome to visit ISL and discuss their children's schooling needs prior to an application. This can be done by telephoning or e-mailing the Admissions Office to arrange a convenient date and time. Most students join the International School of London in September, but we are happy to admit students throughout the year provided that we have places available. Please note, due to the volume of applications, unscheduled visits cannot be accommodated.

To apply for admission, please submit the following for each applicant:

  • Completed application form with one passport-size photo.
  • School records for the previous two years and all available records for the current year, as available.
  • Copies of any independent assessments (if appropriate), individual educational plans (if appropriate) or any psychological and/or medical reports (if appropriate).
  • A completed handwritten Student Questionnaire (applicants for grades 4 and above omly).
  • Copies of the applicant’s passport and UK visa if applicable.
  • A confidential Teacher Reference Form which must be sent directly from the school to the ISL Admissions office. This form can be filled electronically or by hand.

Once the application form has been completed you will be directed to pay the Application Fee at the end of the page.  The Application fee is £200 and is paid by debit/credit card. The Application Fee covers administrative costs only and does not guarantee a place in the school.

Please note, the application will not be considered until all the items have been received. Parents are advised to read the Admissions Information which includes the Terms and Conditions of the school. The signature of the parent on the Application Form constitutes acceptance of all stated Terms and Conditions.

Admissions Process
Application is made by submitting all the documents on the checklist at which point the file will be considered for admission. Once the applicant has been offered a place, parents will need to confirm the offer by paying the non-refundable enrolment deposit of £1500 per child within 3 weeks of the offer letter being sent. Depending on the acceptance date, the first term’s tuition fee may also be due. If the deadline is missed, the offer will be withdrawn.
