Welcome to Middle Years

Welcome to the International School of London Middle Years Programme.

ISL is an international school well into its fifth decade of excellence in education. Situated in the leafy environs of Gunnersbury Park, West London, we offer the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) - a concept and skills-based curriculum that promotes student inquiry, as well as helps students develop personal understanding and a sense of responsibility in their community.

Three Core Values

At ISL, students are given an educational experience that explores multiple perspectives and intercultural values. We strive to empower our students by celebrating their stories, worth and purpose in the classroom and beyond.

Three core values drive our programme:

Understanding. In the age of the knowledge economy, with an abundance of information available at students’ fingertips, young people need increased conceptual awareness to build understanding. An emphasis on conceptual understanding enables students to make sense of content and knowledge.

Identity & Diversity. The basis of understanding others is understanding the self. ISL is a culturally diverse community. Students' cultural and linguistic identities are valued and nurtured through our international curriculum and mother tongue programme. Our school develops the attitudes, skills and understanding needed for active and responsible contributions to both local and global communities.

Passion. At ISL, students are encouraged to follow their individual passions. One of the ways in which this is achieved in through the Personal Project, a self-initiated project where students investigate an area of interest and design a final product.
