G6 EngLA2 students experienced a wonderful and diverse sharing of cultures with their classmates through food! Students discussed their culinary heritage and showcased their unique cuisines with others.

The students prepared and shared foods from their diverse cultural backgrounds. Through this sharing of food and discussion, they created a sense of community and connection; and were able to appreciate and respect the diversity that exists within their classroom.

By sharing food and their stories, the students were able to connect on a deeper level. The students discussed the memories associated with the food they prepared; whether it was a recipe passed down from their grandparents or a dish they grew up eating – there was always a story behind it. Sharing these stories allowed them to connect with others and create a sense of belonging.
