Grade 6 uncover the secrets of life!

Across the Globe

This term, Grade 6 students are studying cells and finding out about them using various methods particularly microscopy. The first lessons are designed to teach students how to use a microscope correctly before they can embark on various investigations into plant and animal cells. Our budding scientists have already become experts and are able to spot mistakes made by others when using microscopes. We had fun looking at Hydra (microscopic fresh water animal) and Spirogyra (microscopic green algae) under various magnifications. After learning about cell components and the difference between animal and plant cells, students will start focusing on cell specialization.
