Research Institute collaboration with Dr Rob Sharples

Our Grade 9-10 Research Institute team have been collaborating this week with Dr Robert Sharples from the University of Bristol. He has been advising groups of students on their next steps via a Teams meeting. Those students working on the literature review have had some specialist advice on building up a picture of the research that has already been conducted in their field and how to join the academic conversation by pinpointing where their own research fits into this work. The group working on the study design presented their chosen method of data collection and why this is the best option for the purposes of their study. The ethics team who are working on the information sheet and consent form, alongside taking responsibility for recruiting participants have had some advice on making sure that any participants are aware of their right to withdraw from the study at any time and some of the possible ethical pitfalls to avoid in any research project.
