To celebrate Non Fiction November, the winners of the 10th annual School Library Association Information Book Awards were announced last week. The awards are split into 3 age ranges - up to 7, 8-12 and 13-16. As always, a range of beautiful and informative books were in contention. The front covers of the shortlisted books are here:

The winners of each category are as follows:

Age 7 and under:

Heroes Who Help Us From Around the World, by Liz Gogerly and Ryan Wheatcroft, published by Franklin Watts

Age 8 to 12:

Africa, Amazing Africa, by Atinuke (Author) and Mouni Feddag (Illustrator), published by Walker Books

Age 13 to 16:

Black History Matters, by Robin Walker, published by Franklin Watts

The overall winner chosen by the judges was Africa, Amazing Africa, published by Walker. We already have some of the shortlisted and winning titles in the library but we will ensure that a copy of each shortlisted title (along with many from the longlist) are ordered for our collection in the coming weeks.
