Several weeks ago, and just after Virtual School started, G7 students were faced with the challenge to embark on their Science fair projects away from the school labs!
They have adapted amazingly well to the situation and turned their homes into temporary labs to solve real-life problems in areas of their interest. Some of the key skills and attitudes we aim to develop in our students by involving them in the Science Fair are: creativity; collaboration; problem-solving skills; and scientific curiosity. In addition to these skills, they have learned how to conduct a project remotely this year and how to take responsibility for sourcing equipment for their project. Students also learned how to work collaboratively to complete the project and present it to the school community. All projects have a link to Service learning and a global context.
