ISL Theatre Company

The ISL Theatre Company is the heartbeat of creativity, collaboration and community at the International School of London. Since its launch in 2022 with Matilda, the company has grown into a dynamic platform where students, staff and parents come together to create theatre.
Our productions, including Fame (2023), Annie (2024), and most recently Guys and Dolls (2025) have been staged in partnership with venues such as the Hounslow Arts Centre and the Musical Museum in Brentford, giving our students the opportunity to perform in professional standard theatres while experiencing the excitement of live performance.
Aligned with our Community Charter, the ISL Theatre Company encourages students to connect with empathy and respect, to explore their imagination and emotions, and to grow in confidence and self-expression. Every production involves collaboration across acting, singing, set and costume design, and technical theatre, ensuring that every participant plays a meaningful role in the creative process.
By engaging in musical theatre, our students nurture healthy minds, bodies and relationships, while discovering the joy of storytelling. Each performance is a celebration of dedication and teamwork, and an opportunity for our community to come together through the shared language of the theatre arts.
ISL Media Club

The Media Club runs The Buzz, our school media. It offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in film, podcasting, journalism and digital content creation using professional-grade cameras, microphones and editing software. Open to both our MYP and College students, the club fosters a relaxed, creative and collaborative atmosphere where students can explore storytelling, enhance their technical skills and see their work published on the school website and social media. The club supports academic and personal development by highlighting key IB Learner Profile traits, and it connects meaningfully to CAS requirements.

The MYP Club meets every Thursday after school from 3.30 to 5pm and produces a broadcast featuring student-led stories and creative segments. The College Club meets on Tuesdays from 4.30 to 5.30pm at the College, where students currently host the school’s podcast, The Buzz Girls, and contribute to the main broadcast by producing their own segments and interviews.
The experience of producing original content showcases creativity, initiative and strong communication skills; qualities that can help students stand out in applications for further studies.
An extracurricular commitment in the Media Club will be an advantage in further studies demonstrating collaboration, responsibility and a strong interest in the evolving world of digital storytelling.
ISL Orchestra

The ISL Orchestra brings together talented PYP and MYP students who rehearse weekly and perform at key events throughout the school year. A highlight of the programme is the opportunity to collaborate with professional musicians, joining them to provide orchestral accompaniment for ISL’s end‑of‑year musical production at a local theatre. This enriching experience allows students to develop their musical skills, build confidence and contribute to a memorable community performance.
ISL Choir

The ISL Choir is a welcoming and vibrant space where students come together to share their love of music and develop their vocal skills. Open to all abilities, the choir encourages teamwork, confidence and creativity through regular rehearsals and performances. Choir members enjoy the opportunity to showcase their talent while building friendships and a strong sense of belonging.
