Transitions Care

A multi-award winning Transitions Care Programme

ISL has been providing outstanding relocation and transitions support to our school community for over 10 years, this has been recognised by Ofsted, the IB Organisation, the Council for International Schools and through our many awards.

Our transitions programme supports students, families and staff into the ISL community when they join us and as they grow. This demonstrably improves outcomes, and helps students and their families settle into their new life quickly and smoothly.

All members of the ISL community, including the school administration, teachers, students and the Parent Teachers Association (PTA), play an integral role in the transitions process. Important parts of the Transitions process include an Orientation Day, Family Meet and Greet, Buddy systems and regular workshops looking at living in London, identity and culture and moving on.

What our parents say about us

What really made a difference were the first few weeks and the great sense of community surrounding ISL. Once the initial dust has settled you realise that most of the staff already know your child’s name (and yours as their parent) whereas you vaguely remember their face. You walk around Chiswick and Ealing and you are greeted by parents who live in your neighbourhood and point you towards the direction of the best dentist or yoga studio. All this creates an atmosphere of safety and warmth that is really hard to attach words to. I think the quality of the ISL transition comes down to the strong school community, and a feeling of togetherness which is spontaneous, caring and informal. Sometimes you feel you made the right choice in life - for us, ISL feels like one of those rare occasions.”

Evangelos Raptis, G2 Parent

Our son started in the ISL Diploma College. Moving so late during the high school years is a tricky moment. Now, six months further, we look back at a very smooth transition! When we applied to the school in Mid-May, our son was promptly invited to join three Taster Days in June. A great start: an early introduction to the school and his peers. This set our son up for a restful summer without the stress of thinking too much about his future life.”

Prem Koster, G12 parent

"Every school says they personalise education but you really walk that walk rather than just say it.  You are so clearly deeply passionate about education, so full of sunshine and really work well as a team.  We are so, so happy we chose this school amongst the many options in London, and that you are looking after our boys’ education."

Hanna Roos, G1 & G6 parent

"Bringing our children to ISL was, without a doubt, one of the best decisions we made when we arrived in London three years ago, and we would make the same choice again without hesitation.

We are very grateful for the support and care the school has provided throughout their time here. I am certain we will all miss the entire ISL community deeply."

Eduardo Cunha, G7 & G10 parent
